MaliceTV 2.0 — full quality is free for everyone

When Pro first arrived, we locked 1080p and 4K behind it. That was the wrong call, and we're sorry. Picture quality shouldn't be behind a paywall. In 2.0, 1080p, 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision and Atmos are free for everyone — and so are downloads and streaming your movies and shows from your own PC.

🧭 Easier to get around

• The side menu is on every page now — Food, Music, the Arcade, My List and more. Press Left (or tap the tab on a phone).
• Back from a category takes you back to Categories, not all the way Home.
• Choose where downloads and recordings are saved in Settings.
• Trailer Roulette is now Trailer Shuffle.

🔧 Fixes

• Multiview channels now recover on their own instead of going black.
• Sync combines lists from all your boxes instead of one replacing the other.

MaliceTV 1.9 — the biggest update yet

This is the largest update MaliceTV has ever had: Live TV, a release Calendar, your own My List categories, themes, five brand-new Extras you won't find in any other app, and a long list of fixes to how shows play. It's a free update — just download the new version.

📺 Live TV

Watch live channels in a proper channel guide — flick through channels with the remote, see what's on now and next, and keep your favourites. Add your own sources: an M3U playlist from your TV provider, your TV service login, an HDHomeRun antenna tuner, or add-ons you've installed that offer live channels. MaliceTV doesn't come with any channels — you bring sources you have the rights to watch.

With Pro: more than one source, catch-up on channels that offer it, and recording — record what's on now, schedule a show straight from the guide, or pick a start time and how long to record.

📅 Release Calendar

Everything coming out over the next three months, day by day: movies in cinemas, movies arriving at home, brand-new shows and new seasons. Tap Remind me and the moment it's out it lands in your My List — and you get a notification. It updates itself every day.

✨ Extras only Malice has

• Movie Night — pick a film and Malice pairs it with a dish to cook (with the full recipe) and a radio station for pre-show music.
• Done by… — tell it when you need to stop and it shows the movies that finish in time, and how many episodes you can fit.
• Previously on… — come back to a show after a couple of weeks and get a spoiler-free recap of where you left off.
• Trailer Roulette (Pro) — full-screen trailers one after another until something grabs you.
• Group Pick — everyone says yes or no to the same titles, then see what you all actually want to watch.

Every Extra is optional — switch any of them off in Settings.

🎨 Make it yours

• 10 colour themes — from Malice Neon to Blood Moon, Arctic and Pumpkin Patch — plus your own background picture behind the app that drifts as you scroll.
• My List categories — make your own lists, choose which ones show on Home, and hit 🎲 Pick one for me when you can't decide.
• 🎲 Pick one for me on every row on Home — including the seasonal Malice picks.
• Choose your side menu — hide the buttons you don't use.
• A new Settings page, split into sections with Save always in reach.

▶ Better at playing your shows

• Continue Watching now returns to the exact episode and spot you left, using the same source you were watching — and picks another if that one's gone.
• Smarter source picks for TV: season packs no longer get chosen by mistake, the right file inside a pack is played, and if you pick a source by hand for a show, later episodes stick with it.
• "Because you watched…" and "More like this" now work without a TMDB key.
• Plenty of smaller fixes — remote focus, add-ons installed from your PC showing up, and more.

Debrid is now free for everyone

The biggest change we've made to how MaliceTV works. Your debrid account now works without Pro — add your TorBox, Real-Debrid, AllDebrid or Premiumize key and playback just works, free. You paid for that service; using it here shouldn't cost you again.

Free playback runs up to 720p. Pro raises that to 1080p and 4K, and adds HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and offline downloads — on top of everything it already unlocked. Still one $4.99 payment, still no subscription.

Already bought Pro? You lose nothing and gain the new quality options. Everything you paid for is still yours.

Also in this release: the source list now shows exactly what it found and why anything is missing, sorts best-quality-first, and marks which stream is currently playing. You can hide the Pro-only sources from the list if you'd rather not see them. Plus a fix for the on-screen keyboard popping up when scrolling past the key fields on a TV remote.

MaliceTV is now free

MaliceTV is free to download, with everything in the app available to try. Pro is a one-time $4.99 unlock — no subscription, no ads, no recurring anything. It unlocks 1080p and 4K playback, HDR, Dolby Vision and Atmos, offline downloads, the Pro games, the flagged music genres, PC game streaming, the personal media server and multiple profiles.

Buy Pro through Google Play and it's tied to your Google account, so it comes back by itself on a new phone, a new TV box, or after a reinstall — nothing to save, nothing to re-enter.

Bought MaliceTV before it went free? You keep Pro at no cost. Most people were grandfathered in automatically. If yours didn't carry over — or if it disappears after a reinstall or a factory reset — just contact us and we'll send you a Pro key, no questions asked. You paid for it; you keep it.

Malice Invasion joins the Games hub

A brand-new built-in game, Malice Invasion, is now live alongside Malice Mash and The Pirate Voyage. It plays great on a TV remote, a gamepad, or touch — no downloads, no accounts, it's just there in the app. More original games are on the way.

Malice Mash gets a big update

Our match-in-space puzzle game got a large content and polish pass — new levels, smoother controls on Android TV remotes, and a cleaner exit back to MaliceTV. If you played the early version, it's worth another look.

Custom-built PC game streaming

Run the free MaliceTV Desktop app on your gaming PC and stream your library — or your whole desktop — straight to the TV over your home network, with mouse, keyboard and controller going back the other way. It's our own streaming engine, coded from the ground up. Pair once with a PIN and you're playing on the couch.

Now on phones and tablets

MaliceTV started on Android TV boxes and now runs on phones and tablets too — same app, one purchase, with touch-friendly layouts. Built for the big screen first, comfortable in your pocket second.
